How this scoring works

Four things we judge your draft on

Every score uses the same four pillars, weighted the way the LinkedIn feed actually behaves. Not vibes, and not a vanity engagement number.

Hook

What we look for: We look at your first line or two, whether it promises something specific, teases a tension, or earns a scroll stop in a crowded feed.

Why it matters: On LinkedIn almost nobody taps "see more" on a flat opener. If the hook doesn't land, the rest of the draft never gets read.

Readability

What we look for: We look at sentence rhythm, paragraph length, jargon density, and whether the post is easy to skim on a phone without losing the thread.

Why it matters: Most of your readers are skimming between meetings. Dense walls of text or clever-but-hard phrasing quietly kill dwell time and shares.

CTA

What we look for: We look for a clear ask at the end: a question people actually want to answer, a resource to grab, or a next step that fits the post's promise.

Why it matters: A post without a real CTA leaves the best comments, DMs, and leads on the table. Vague "thoughts?" lines are where most drafts quietly lose.

Engagement

What we look for: We look at signals that tend to drive reactions and comments: a concrete point of view, specifics over generalities, and invitations to react rather than agree.

Why it matters: LinkedIn's feed rewards conversation, not polish. A clean post that nobody argues with will reach fewer people than a sharper one that gets replies.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they paste a draft

Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no credit card, no trial countdown. You get the four scores and the directional takeaway when you use the checker. Deeper rewrites, section-by-section feedback, and saved history live inside PostMentor, but the scoring flow is free to use within fair-use limits.
Do you store my draft?
No. The app uses your draft text to score the post, then discards it. If you choose to email yourself the score recap, we store a content hash instead of the raw text.
What makes this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT will happily rewrite anything you paste at it, but it has no real opinion about what performs on LinkedIn specifically. This tool scores the draft against the four things that actually move the feed: hook, readability, CTA, and engagement. You get a verdict before you change anything, plus a clear idea of which lever to pull next.
How accurate is the score?
It's a directional signal, not a guarantee of reach. Think of it like a checklist from a senior editor: a 9/10 draft still has to be posted at a sensible time to a warm audience, and a 6/10 can overperform if the topic is hot. Use it to catch obvious issues before you publish, not to chase a perfect number.
Can I score more than one post?
Yes, you can score multiple drafts. The free checker has fair-use limits to keep scoring fast and prevent abuse, so you may occasionally need to wait before scoring another post. For the full workspace with saved drafts, detailed feedback, and rewritten versions, continue in PostMentor.
Where do I get the full analysis?
The free tool gives you the score and a directional takeaway. The full write-up, section-by-section feedback, a rewritten draft in your voice, and saved history are inside PostMentor. Continue in PostMentor and you can carry this draft straight in.
